Biography,
in a few words...

Hi, I’m Abdullah Kamal, a Machine Learning researcher with a passion for applying AI to solve real-world problems (yes, it's a bit cliché, but I mean it!). My research spans machine learning algorithms designed to create safety mechanisms for drone delivery systems, as well as applying neural networks for speaker recognition, also known as speaker diarization. I’ve built a strong foundation in software engineering and research through various technical roles.

My industry experience includes an internship at Dell, along with research positions at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas State University. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with faculty from several research institutions, which has led to publications in IEEE and ACM.

In addition to my technical expertise, I’m deeply involved in leadership. I served as Vice President of the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) at Texas State University, where I led machine learning workshops and collaborated with industry leaders from major tech companies. During my time with GDSC, I also co-founded the CS Launchpad, a program aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion among technical majors at TXST.

I am proud to have co-founded the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) chapter at Texas State, where I held the role of National Liaison. Through my work at SIAM, I had the honor of directing the first-ever Julia Robinson Math Festival, an initiative that significantly enhanced community outreach for the university.

Furthermore, I was a co-founder of the Boko Hacks hackathon, partnering with organizations like Microsoft Federal, IEEE, CodePath, and KC7, which drew more than 200 participants from various universities. I’ve also held board positions in SME, SSE, and .EXE, contributing to their growth and impact.
